Stories From the Road: Kelliher Takes "No Stone Unturned" Jobs Tour to Duluth
DULUTH, MN – DFL-endorsed candidate for Governor
Margaret Anderson Kelliher visited the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center
(DECC) today on day two of the “No Stone Unturned” jobs tour. Infrastructure investments
in the DECC reconstruction effort championed by Kelliher have created more than
300 good-paying jobs in Duluth.
“As Governor I will leave no stone unturned to get Minnesota back to work,” said Kelliher. “I will wake up every day and do everything it takes to connect hard-working Minnesotans with good, meaningful work. That’s what we have done here in Duluth, and that’s what you can expect from me as Governor.”
Kelliher says 214,000 Minnesotans are out of work – including 3,300 in Duluth alone. As Governor, Kelliher will bring jobs to Duluth and every Minnesota community by:
- Bringing $1.4 billion home from Washington for good-paying jobs in hospitals and clinics
- Invest in high-priority infrastructure projects like the DECC
- Expanding and growing small businesses through low-interest loans and better access to capital
- Educating Minnesota’s workforce for the next generation of jobs
- Encouraging new innovation in science, biotechnology, and high-tech development
- Reforming DEED from top to bottom to more aggressively create and retain jobs in Minnesota
- Growing the clean energy economy with investments in green manufacturing and retrofitting
DFL-endorsed Kelliher is bringing her blueprint for job creation to communities across the state over the next several months. She will be gathering input from Minnesotans, and considering every good idea that will create jobs and opportunity in our state.
“I want to hear every good idea, every great example, and every opportunity to create Minnesota jobs,” Kelliher said. “As your Governor, I won’t rest until 214,000 Minnesotans are back on the job. That’s what’s at stake in this election. That’s what I’m fighting for. That’s why I’m running to be your Governor.”
The North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters, which represents more than 12,000 carpenters, were on-hand at the DECC today to show their support for Kelliher, and officially endorse Kelliher for Governor.
Kelliher was joined by Mayor Don Ness, state Rep. Roger Reinert, state Rep. Mary Murphy, and City Council Vice President Sharla Gardner.
