Why Lissi Corbett, a Server From St. Paul, is Supporting Margaret Anderson Kelliher
Good afternoon everyone! My name is Lissi Corbett. I live in Saint Paul, and I’ve worked as a server for over a decade. I’ve got news for Tom Emmer: I am not overpaid, and I do not make 100,000 dollars a year. I was angry when I heard about Tom Emmer’s proposal to lower the wages of servers throughout Minnesota, and I quickly found that I was not alone.
We need a governor who understands what it means to work for a living.
We need a governor who will fight for working people.
We need a governor who will work to raise our standard of living, not lower it.
We need a governor who looks forward, not backward.
That’s why I want Margaret Anderson Kelliher to be the governor of Minnesota—because I am confident that she will work for us. That’s why I started a Facebook group called Minnesota Service Industry for Margaret Anderson Kelliher—so servers throughout the state could easily come together and support a candidate who will support them.
I am not here to speak negatively about Tom Emmer, but I will say this: I wouldn’t vote for him if he gave me 100,000 dollar tip.
But today I am proud to introduce who I will vote for—the next governor of Minnesota, Margaret Anderson Kelliher.
