DFL-endorsed Kelliher Comments on Federal Funding for Hospitals, Jobs
ST. PAUL, MN – DFL-endorsed candidate for Governor Margaret Anderson Kelliher had this to say about $1.4 billion in federal funding for hospitals and clinics in Minnesota.
“The first thing I will do as Governor is bring $1.4 billion home to Minnesota. That will put needed resources into our hospitals and clinics. It will save and create 11,000 jobs in the first 18 months, and 30,000 jobs by the end of my first term.
“Tim Pawlenty decided today he would rather lose $1 million per day to other states, and forfeit thousands of good-paying jobs in our hospitals and clinics. It’s one final irresponsible act to secure his legacy of neglect and job loss in this state. Tom Emmer would continue that legacy, and deepen the job crisis in Minnesota.
“As Governor I will do everything it takes to get Minnesota back to work. I will fight to bring every Minnesota dollar we can home from Washington – because every dollar we bring home is another dollar we can use to create jobs and opportunity in our state.
“That’s what is at stake in this election, that’s what I am fighting for, and that’s what Minnesotans can expect from me as their Governor.”
