Servers Standing With Margaret News Conference Tomorrow
ST. PAUL, MN – Minnesota servers supporting DFL-endorsed candidate for Governor Margaret Anderson Kelliher will appear with Kelliher at a St. Paul news conference Tuesday.
Renee Kroeten – a single mom from Plymouth working three jobs to support her two children – will tell her story and describe what Kelliher’s proposed minimum wage increase would mean for her family. Last week Kelliher’s opponent Tom Emmer said servers like Renee earn too much, and should be subject to a tip penalty.
Kelliher and Kroeten will be joined by servers from across the Twin Cities, including Lissi Corbett – a St. Paul server who started a Facebook fan page this weekend called Minnesota Service Industry for Margaret Anderson Kelliher (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=133574976676037).
The news conference will take place in Mears Park at 3:30pm Tuesday at the corner of East 6th Street and North Wacouta Street.
