Star Tribune Endorses Margaret Anderson Kelliher for Governor
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – DFL-endorsed candidate for Governor Margaret Anderson Kelliher earned another key editorial board endorsement today in the race for Governor. The Minneapolis Star Tribune endorsed Kelliher today, saying, “Among the leading candidates in the DFL contest, party endorsee Margaret Anderson Kelliher exhibits more ability to unify than do her chief rivals, Mark Dayton and Matt Entenza, or political newcomer Peter Idusogie. She has our endorsement.”
Kelliher said of today’s announcement, “I am honored to have the endorsement of the Star Tribune and ECM Publishers. Minnesotans and DFLers understand that our state in a jobs crisis. We need honest, stable and capable leadership to get through these challenging times.
The Star Tribune is the largest newspaper in Minnesota with a circulation of more than 295,000 readers.
“The DFL Party, the Star Tribune, ECM Publishers, and thirty-six other organizations representing hard-working Minnesotans in every corner of the state have endorsed my candidacy for Governor. They have all come to the same conclusion: I am in the best position to beat Tom Emmer in November, and most qualified to lead Minnesota through these challenging times.”
Last Wednesday Kelliher earned the endorsement of ECM Publishers. ECM operates 15 weekly papers throughout Minnesota reaching more than 140,000 readers every week.
The Star Tribune and ECM endorsements add to a long list of endorsements from a diverse group of organizations supporting Margaret’s candidacy for Governor, including:
